STUDENT POSTER SESSION AND COMPETITION
Especially designed for students, this is a great opportunity to get industry input on student projects, as well as to gain exposure for students and programs conducting research in bioenergy and bioproducts.
The International Bioenergy and Bioproducts Conference (IBBC) invites abstract submissions for technical posters to be included in the IBBC Poster Session.
Posters addressing the following topics are welcomed:
- Supply and Demand of Woody and Nonwoody Biomass
- Collecting, Harvesting and Preparation of Biomass
- Torrefaction and Wood Pellets
- Thermochemical and Biochemical Conversion Pathways
- Production of High Value Biochemicals and Bioproducts from Biomass
- Pilot Plant/Technology Demonstration -Case Studies
- Techno-Economic and Life Cycle Assessments of Biorefinery Pathways
- Policies & Initiatives for Advancing Biorefinery Projects
Submission Instructions
Students interested in presenting should email their abstract to Pat Stiede, [email protected], by August 21, 2022. Abstracts should be 1-2 paragraphs in length. Presenters will be notified of acceptance by August 31, 2022 and must provide a first draft of their presentation by September 15, 2022.
Conference Registration
Fees have not yet been set, but in 2019 student registration fees were $95 for TAPPI student members, and $130 for nonmembers (which includes a TAPPI student membership). It is expected for 2022 fees to be very similar to these rates. Please visit the IBBC website at www.tappi-ibbc.org for more details

RAPID FIRE SHOWCASE |
Poster presenters are also invited to participate in IBBC’s Rapid Fire Showcase.
The Rapid Fire Showcase gives you the opportunity to summarize the research you are working on. Attendees interested in subjects presented during the rapid-fire oral session can visit the accompanying poster and have a more in-depth discussion with the rapid-fire presenters during the student poster session and competition. This format offers greater exposure to presenters, as well as gives attendees a snapshot into the wide variety of research being conducted in the biorefinery arena.
Your power point presentation should have only 5 slides:
- Slide 1 - Title slide: Title of presentation, your name and your institution/group that you represent.
- Slide 2 - Description of the work: Description of the work you have done (raw material, equipment used, process conditions used).
- Slide 3 and 4 - Results: Graphs and tables that will show the results from the work. Please do not load too much graphs or table so we cannot see the numbers. It would be better here to have less and see more.
- Slide 5 - Conclusions: 3 to 4 bullet points that describes the conclusions that you made from the experiment you conducted.
